The center for Mediation and Arbitration CEMEDAR S.A. is an independent and private organization authorized to perform conflict resolution services under Costa Rica's Ministry for Justice and through Resolution DNRAC 04-02, March 7, 2002.
CEMEDAR seeks to promote the advancement of alternative dispute resolution methods such as negotiation, mediation, conciliation, and arbitration as means for constructively resolving conflict.
CEMEDAR provides parties in dispute a safe, private, and confidential space for dialogue, facilitated by one or more professional mediators. CEMEDAR's mediators work with parties to help them identify common interests, build understanding, and craft meaningful agreements that satisfy each party's needs.
CEMEDAR's convenient location in the Rohmoser neighborhood of San Jose provides clients with an easily accessible and safe place to work through their dispute. Our center offers clients with comfortable air conditioned rooms, telecommunications services, parking, and a professional staff dedicated to providing the highest standards of customer service.
Before the first mediation session, CEMEDAR conducts a preliminary evaluation of the conflict situation with each disputing party, to determine whether or not the case is appropriate for mediation.
Mediation sessions last for approximately two hours. Additional sessions can be arranged if necessary.
